Tom Hanson, PT, DPT

My name is Tom Hanson, and I have been a practicing Doctor of Physical Therapy since 2018. Since graduating from Northeastern University and University of Connecticut, I have been practicing in the outpatient setting with extensive training in manual therapy (hands-on manipulation, mobilization, soft tissue and myofascial techniques) and orthopedic conditions. I take a full-body approach to understand pain, dysfunctions, compensations, and interactions within the individual.

I have found that the demands of insurance reimbursement and the reactive medical model have limited the ability of Physical Therapists to help clients to the best of their abilities. Therefore, I have decided to start my own “Cash-based” (self-pay) PT practice outside of the confines of insurance contracts - Integrity Physical Therapy.

At the beginning of my college career, I also started the journey of training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This has been a passion of mine that has developed alongside my professional training, and it has been impossible not to integrate the two. I was promoted to the rank of Black Belt February 2024 under Rob Magao, and am currently an instructor at Bushido Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy in Manchester, CT.

Through my martial arts training I have had the pleasure of meeting many in the Law Enforcement, Fire/EMS, and Military fields. I hope to use my unique knowledge base to serve these communities through my practice - (ask about discount for LEO, Fire/EMS, and military).

At home I am a father to two young sons (Everett and Noah), two rescue dogs (Stella and Rocky), and husband to Michaela (another amazing Physical Therapist).
